We welcomed Lauren Avery Lane to our family on October 17th at 11:54pm. She weighed in at 7 pounds 3 ounces and measured 19 inches. Most people have been telling me that I quite possibly could have had one of the quickest deliveries for a first baby...they only considered me in active labor for 90 minutes. It went so fast that I wasn't admitted, Justin was in street clothes, and I couldn't have an epidural because I went from 1cm to 10cm in a matter of 30 minutes. I guess if you think about it this is the way to go. It beats being in labor for over 24 hours.

Lauren is now 8 weeks old. It is amazing how quickly the time flies. She has grown so much and it amazes me everyday that she is mine. I think she is the best thing I've ever made/done in my life...actually I know she is.

I love being a mom. Life has changed drastically...as I expected it to...but I wouldn't change a thing. There are times when I feel extremely overwhelmed and others when it feels so incredibly natural. It is amazing how you learn to multi-task so well, or learn how to handle your hormones taking over your emotions, or learn that so many things in life that "use" to matter to you don't anymore. I love my little girl and can't imagine life without her.
